Our featured Artist, Brigitte Bowyer Carey was born and educated in Germany and graduated from the "Kunstschule am Alsterdam" in Hamburg. After moving to the United States, Ms. Carey studied watercolour painting with Edgar Whitney, Rex Brandt, Ray Loos and Don Dennis. Brigitte spent 10 years on Hilton Head Island painting South Carolina's Low Country before settling in her husband's native country, The Bahamas. She now lives and works on an island in the beautiful Abacos.

Ms. Carey's unusual landscapes, seascapes and travel sketches are displayed in many banks, hotels and corporate institutions as well as in countless private homes all over the world. Such collectors include Pat Conroy, Mr. Michael Gore - the former British High Commissioner to the Bahamas and Mr. & Mrs. Sean Connery.

Brigitte has been commissioned to paint as many as 50 painting at one time for such clients as Hotels and Interior Designers. Her beautiful wet-on-wet watercolours of Bahamian scenes are evidence of the artist's deep apprecitation of these islands transparent seas and vibrant tropical colours.

	Wooden Signs Quirky and humorous sayings painted on wood and decorated with seashells. These are created by local artist Angelina Albury. Angie makes decorative woodwork, Straw handbags and jewelry. She includes shell work and native birds, flowers and fish in many of her handbag charms and wood signs.
